Even though mermaids are considered mythical creatures, we can’t help ourselves from wanting to emulate their alluring charm. From their glittery scales to their dewy skin, there’s something enchantingly beautiful about mermaids. And since summer isn’t over yet, we’re sharing our favorite simple mermaid makeup look using just two products.
What You Need for Our Mermaid Eyeshadow Look
The key to mermaid eye makeup is its effortlessness and dewiness. You want to look glowing, shimmery, and a little bit sexy—without trying too hard. That’s why all you need for this simple mermaid makeup is a dark brown eyeliner and our Cavier Stick in Rush. Rush is a purple-y chrome shade that’s more versatile than you think.
Together, these two products (plus an eyeshadow brush) will create a stunning transformation that’s suitable for the beach, a bar, and beyond. See how the team at Laura Mercier takes on mermaid glam below.
Step by Step Mermaid Eyeshadow Tutorial
Once you have everything you need, let’s start the eye makeup look.
Step 1
Using our new Caviar Tightline eyeliner pencil in espresso brown, line just your upper lash line. To intensify, try smudging into your upper waterline, too.
Step 2
With a steady hand and a sharp pencil, elongate the outer corner to create a thin wing. Nothing too dramatic, just a little extra flick.
Step 3
Next, take your Caviar Stick in Rush across the entire lid, starting from the lash line and working up. Feel free to blend and diffuse with an eyeshadow brush.
Step 4
The look is complete! If you want more, feel free to add a swipe of our volumizing mascara to the outer lashes and a dab of highlighter across your cheekbones.
We recommend pairing this look with a light layer of tinted moisturizer, bronzer around your cheekbones and forehead, and a nude lip topped with a high-shine gloss. Together these products create a shimmery look that’s guaranteed to mesmerize.
