Laura Mercier has long been a partner to London Fashion Week. As an expert makeup artistry brand, our artists have been at the forefront of igniting trends and creating looks we will all want to be recreating in the coming months. For Spring 2024, Laura Mercier partnered with luxury designer, Altuzarra, to bring our legendary Flawless Face to the runway. Renowned makeup artist and backstage regular, Diane Kendal, dialled up radiance with perfected skin, petal-like lips, and a rosy flush on cheeks.
Speaking to us backstage, designer Joseph Altuzarra, said, “We wanted to celebrate a healthy, dewy complexion. Diane really aimed to capture the feeling of subtle elegance that felt both restrained but also deeply vulnerable and raw. She did this with inattentional finishes like a dewy lip and glowing skin.”
Here’s how to recreate the Altuzarra Flawless Face
The skin really was the star of the show and it hinged upon a flawless finish and natural looking, healthy glow. For the most skin-like finish, Kendal massaged Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Natural Perfector SPF 30 into skin. This cult favourite skin tint is the perfect blend of skincare and makeup and helps increase the skin’s moisture levels for a juicy, plumped finish.
Once applied, Kendal concealed imperfections with Secret Camouflage Concealer. This clever skin perfector is an essential in every makeup artist’s kit because it allows you the ultimate control, enabling you to instantly mix up a shade that perfectly complements your skin tone.
Opting for a natural-looking, healthy flush, Kendal patted hydrating Tinted Moisturiser Blush onto the tops of cheeks. Kendal used three shades across her models, Southbound, Promenade, and French Riviera, selecting the optimum shade for each skin tone.
Southbound is a peachy pink that lifts and brightens pale skin.
Promenade is a deep, blue-toned rose with a touch of a golden sheen that looks beautiful on warm, medium skin tones.
French Riviera is a chocolate red tone that perfectly enhances dark skin tones.
Kendal continued the naturally flawless theme on eyes where she subtly accentuated the eye crease and socket with Caviar Stick Eyeshadow Matte in shades Cobblestone, Café Noir, and Midnight Blue depending on the model’s skin tone. To finish, a few lashings of Caviar Volume Panoramic Mascara was applied to lashes.
Tying the look together, Kendal sketched Petal Soft Lipstick Crayon onto lips for a beautifully hydrated, subtly pigmented effect. She selected from shades Léa (a warm brown nude), Jeanne (a rich warm nude), and Laura (a rich plum red).
